The Who of Me
Depending on how you found your way here, you may or may not know much about me. My name is Wayne Jeschke. Throughout my adult life I’ve had two primary interests - photography and audio, and over the years I’ve been fortunate to engage in the activities of both of them. Back in the early eighties, I began pursuing an interest in a career in Fine Art Landscape Photography, which continued for nearly two decades. But then I embarked down a different path for a season. Twenty years to be exact. Joining the staff of a church in Calgary, Alberta, I served the Technical Arts Department, primarily in the area of audio, but also lighting and photography. These were fulfilling years, during which I learned many valuable things. Then in 2017, I sensed once again the opportunity for me to pursue my love of landscape photography. And so this is where I find myself today, using camera and lens to showcase the beauty and wonder around us. When I first began getting serious about photography, I remember making a promise to myself and to God. I wanted it to be for His purposes. I’ve tried to stay true to this objective, and in making photographs of subject matter I find interesting or attractive, hope that others may enjoy them as well. It’s my firm belief that the One who made all things desires to reveal Himself through His creation. The American writer and explorer Fitz Hugh Ludlow once spoke of it as “The Scripture of Nature”. I think that’s why we as humans are so drawn to nature, because it points us to God, and we were made to be in His company. So as you journey through the photographs, I hope you’ll see the signature of the true artist and maker, who grants insights to all through His natural places.
